From History of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania:
(Edward Cable) He received his education at the log schoolhouse, and in 1846 married Sophia Kane, who bore him twelve children, six of whom are now living.(John Hodges McNeill) April 29, 1885, Mr. McNeill married Miss Mattie K. Cable, daughter of Edward and Sophia Magdalene Cable, for fifty years residents of O'Hara township, and Edward Cable is a native of England and Sophia M. Cable is a native of America, born in Allegheny county.
