Biography

Metro Kapicki, the son of Mike and Frozina Kapicki, was born on the family farm near Spedden, Alberta, 18 April 1926. He is listed with his parents in the 1926 Canada Census of the Prairie Provinces.^{[1] [2]}(See Research Notes) Metro lived with his parents on the family farm until 11 August 1958 when he married Pearl Haluschak.

After their marriage, Pearl and Metro continued to live on Pearl's farm east of Vilna, One son, Danny was born in 1959.

Pearl passed away 3 February 1988 and Metro, 28 December 1998. He is buried in Vilna Ruth Catholic Cemetery, in Vilna, Alberta. ^[3]

Research Notes

The 1926 Census lists the children of Mike and Frozyna as George and Dan. Metro is listed as Dan, which is likely an error made by the census taker. The age of 2 months is correct for Metro and there are no other siblings named Dan in the family. Also, there are no sources to indicate that Metro's middle name could be Dan, but it is interesting that Metro named his son Danny.
