Biography

Victor was born about February 13, 1901, the son of (unnamed) Karnes and Pearl Lovejoy.[1]

Census

1910 US Federal Census Justice Precinct 3, Coryell, Texas

In 1910, Will C Karnes, a 36 year old farmer, lived on a place he owned with his wife Pearl, 35, and three children: son Fransis, 11; Victor, 9; and Jewell, 5. All were born in Texas. Will and Pearl have been married for 11 years, and Pearl has had 3 children. Will's parents were born in Alabama, while Pearl's parents were born in Texas.[2]

1920 US Federal Census Bertram, Burnet, Texas

In 1920, Wm. C. Karnes, a 47 year old farmer, lived on a place he owned with his wife Pearl, 44, and three children: daughter Francis, 21; Victor, 18; and Jewell, 15. All were born in Texas. William's father was born in Missouri and his mother in Mississippi, while Pearl's parents were born in Alabama.[3]

1930 US Federal Census

In 1930, Victor E. Karnes, 29, a geologist for an oil company, lived in a place he owned at 4134 Erie with his wife Gladys S., 24, and two children: Yvonne E. 3 [3 2/12]; and mother Pearl Karnes, 52. All were born in Texas. Victor was 29 and Gladys was 19 when they were married. Victor's parents were born in Texas, while Gladys's father was born in Holland and her mother in Texas. Pearl is divorced, and her paretns were both born in Texas.[4]

Death and Burial

Victor, a self-employed geophysicist, died on May 20, 1982, at Beaumont, Jefferson, Texas, USA. At the time of his death, he was married to Maxine Perice.[5] He is buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas, USA: Plot: Garden of Faith.[6] You can see a picture of his gravestone at Find A Grave.
