Henry KAU was born about 18 October 1863 in Buedesheim, Bingen, Germany[1] and died on 7 August 1943 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.[1], [2] He was the son of Heinrich "Henry" KAU and Magdelana KUNZ.[1]
He was christened with the name Henricus KAU on 19 October 1863 in Roemisch-Katholische, Buedesheim, Rheinhessen, Hesse-Darmstadt.[3]
He was a wine merchant[1] and owned a restaurant in Chicago.[4]
According to the 1900 census record, Henry KAU immigrated about 1882. He was naturalized in Chicago, Illinois on 6 November 1886.

He is thought to have married Katherine BRADEN on 15 September 1887.[5]

Katherine "Kate" BRADEN was born on 10 June 1867 in Ohio, [Bureau County?] Illinois[6] and died on 6 December 1938 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois[7], [8]
