Biography

Rudolph Kauffman is a son of Christian Kauffman & his 1st wife Magdalena Brubacher Kauffman. Rudolph married Elizabeth Geisinger (b 1746), a daughter of "Philip" Hans Philip Geisinger & his wife Anna Mary (nee?) Geisinger.

Children of Rudolph and Anna Mary are:

  • Christian Kauffman, born September 22, 1785, died September 24, 1858
  • Susannah Kauffman, born April 3, 1779, died September 8, 1824, married David Kaufman (1765-1823)
  • Barbara Kauffman
  • Elizabeth Kauffman
  • Philip Kauffman
  • Anna Kauffman, born March 16, 1776, died June 9, 1843, married John Sell Yoder (1777 - 1866)

Elizabeth (Geissinger) Kauffman died May 6, 1813 and is buried in the cemetery of the Saucon Mennonite Meeting House. Rudolph died in 1821, in Lehigh county, Pennsylvania and is buried with her.

Notes

There are not sufficient sources to document the other two daughters, Barbara and Elizabeth, so I have not added them. Also, my ancestor David Kauffman is not listed among the children of Rudolph and Elizabeth. I am not certain that this is the correct parent for my ancestor. David's DOB is before the (approximate) marriage date of this couple. More research is needed.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Rudolph by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Rudolph:
