Mr Kavanagh, graduate of Gompers High School, New York City, spent 3 years in the Army in WWII and was in General Patton's Third Army overseas. Now employed with Western Electric Co in Kearney NJ. Born Grassy Point, lifelong resident of North Rockland. WWII combat veteran in United States Army, European theater. At the time of his death, employed as traffic manager for Flo-Tech Inc in Newburgh. Survived by wife Eliz, dtr Kathleen, and sons John Douglas and Brian, all of the home address, a son Kevin of Haverstraw; two sisters, Mary Kavanagh of New City and Mrs Harold Kiernan of Washingtonville; brother Lawrence of Garnerville, two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday (14 Feb) at St Peter's RC Church, Haverstraw, interment following at St Peter's Cemetery.
