Alice was born in Australia and married her husband, John Francis Coventry there. Her first three children (one whom did not survive and remained unnamed) were born in Australia. The family emigrated to New Zealand c.1875, twins Mary and Ruth were born in 1876, after the family arrived in New Zealand. Alice died in 1913, aged 63, in Mangaroa, Taranaki, NZ from diabetes. She is buried in the cemetery at Ohura, King Country, NZ; Row 13 (begins near big tree), Plot 141 (Fallen & Broken). Her granddaughter, Florence (daughter of John and Margaret Coventry), who died aged 4, is buried nearby in Plot 142.
