Biography

Joseph Kay [1][2][3] was born to Isaac Kay and Maryann.[4]

He was estimated to be born about 1747, based on his wedding date.

Joseph married Judith Lippincott on March 27, 1767 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[5]

Joseph and Judith's children were as follows:

  1. Aaron Kay b. ca. 1768, m. Esther Knowles (nee Tudor)
  2. Joseph L. Kay b. ca. 1772, m. Mary C. Foster, no issue.
  3. Charles Kay, m. Eliza Foster, no issue.
  4. Sarah Kay b. ca. 1770. Nathan Eyre
  5. Elizabeth Kay, m. 1) Nathan Eyre, (brother-in-law) 2) Samuel Potter (brother-in-law)
  6. Rachel Kay m. 1) Captain Golden, no issue, 2)Samuel Potter, no issue[6] [7]

Joseph died before 18 Dec 1806.[8] His will is dated February 5, 1805. No mention of his wife, Judith is made, so she died before him. [9]
