There is an existing Wikitree profile for son Edward baptised 11 March 1558 at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kay-2635 He has the same baptism date and the burial date 13 November 1623 in Staveley, which is actually his wife Beatrix. However, he has a different wife and son attached. I have put some sources and research notes on there.
Thanks, Lynn. On a very quick look it looks as if two different Edwards have been confused. Before we think about linking the profiles, it is necessary to sort out the tangle that exists over Edward Kaye and the two Edwards (Kaye and Keyes) set as unmerged matches for Edward. Research will be needed to do this, as some sources say that the Robert Keyes the gunpowder plotter was son of Edward Keyes/Kaye and Anna Tyrwhitt, while others say this is impossible as they believe the Robert who was a son of Edward and Anna died about a decade before the Gunpowder Plot. I do not in my head have the knowledge to know what the right answer is. Dates on at least one of the three Edward profiles will be wrong, possibly by several decades: Edward Keyes/Kaye who married Anna Tyrwhitt is shown with a birth date of 1513 on one profile and 1558 and 1560 on the others. Once that tangle has been resolved, and the right merges or disconnections made, we can consider how best to proceed as regards linking an Edward to this profile.
A further complication is that the profile of Edward, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kay-2635, has an unsourced son James attached, who is not listed by Dugdale. That too needs to be checked out.
I have added to the helpful research notes you placed on the profile of Edward, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Kay-2635, and also added a comment to that profile.
The present profile is on a long list of profiles managed by the Magna Carta Project that need attention. I am afraid this is not on my priority list at the moment, but if anyone wants to research it all, great!
This profile is in a Richardson-documented trail between Gateway Ancestor Richard Saltonstall and Magna Carta surety baron Robert FitzWalter (MCA III:484-488 SALTONSTALL) that needs development by the Magna Carta Project. If there are no objections, I will soon be adding the project as co-manager of this profile and will add a project box and project section to the biography. This profile still needs to be developed against the project's checklist. Thanks!
