Early Life

Irene Kazmierski was born on July 27, 1915 at home in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois and baptized on on August 1, 1915 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Her parents were Joseph Kazmierski and Anna Krupa.[1][2][3][4][5]

Irene Kazmierski probably graduated from grade school at St. Mary's Grammar School in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana, in 1930[2] and graduated from Hammond High School, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana in 1934.[7][2] She later attended one or two years of college, probably at Hammond Business College, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana.[2][8]

Irene married Henry Joseph Sejda on June 20, 1942 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hammond, Indiana.[9][10][11][3][12]

Henry and Irene had four daughters. The eldest, Mary Sejda is no longer living.[13]

Occupation

Irene worked her entire adult life. In 1940, she was a stenographer in the public schools.[8] By 1945 until 1970, she was a biller. Starting in 1970, was a Tax Settlement Clerk.[2]

Activities

Irene was an active member of the Munster Domocratic Woman's Club.[14][15]

Irene died on December 7, 1998 at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital North, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana from pancreatic cancer. She was buried December 11, 1998 at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Cook County, Illinois after a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas More Church, Munster, Lake County, Indiana.[3][4]

June 20, 1942 - married Henry Joseph Sejda at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. The witnesses were Clara Kazmierski, Lorraine Sejda, Mary Gorczyca, Walter Sejda, Lillian Wojciechowski and Edmond Kazmierski.[9][10]

1978 - described as 5' 6" tall, weighing 170 lbs, having brown hair and hazel eyes.[2]

December 14, 1978 - Started work as a Tax Settlement Clerk at the Lake County, Indiana, Auditor.[2]

December 7, 1998 - died at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital North, Hammond, Lake County, Indiana from pancreatic cancer.[3][4]

December 11, 1998 - buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Cook County, Illinois[3][4] following a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Munster, Lake County, Indiana.[4]
