Biography
Catherine daughter of Maurice Keating, farmer, of Knuckeens, and Catharine Keating formerly Goolding, was born 16 Oct 1876 at Knuckeens. The birth was registered by Maurice Keating, father, of Knuckeens, on 28 Oct 1876.[1]
Kate Keating appeared in the 1901 census of Ireland at House 7 in Garranearagh, Caher, Kerry, age 22, born Co Kerry, occupation farmers daughter, as daughter to Maurice Keating.[2]
On 20 Feb 1906 at Caherciveen in the Registrar's District of Caher and Union of Caherciveen in the County of Kerry, the marriage took place of Patrick O’Shea, full age, a bachelor and farmer of Ballard, son of Cornelius O’Shea, farmer, and Catherine Keating, full age, a spinster and farmer’s daughter of Knockeens, daughter of Maurice Keating, farmer, witnessed by Patrick O’Connell, Deborah Garvey.[3]
Kate Shea appeared in the 1911 census of Ireland at House 8 in Ballard, Lower, Teeranearagh, Lower (Teeranearagh, Kerry, age 39, born Kerry, occupation -, as wife to Patrick Shea. Married 6 years, having had 3 children with 3 still living.[4]
