Biography

James Keating was born 08 Nov 1869, and baptized 09 Nov 1869 in Caherciveen, child of Dermot [Keating] and Honora Coffey of C'Naheens. Sponsored by: Patrick Keating, Joanna Keating.[1]

James son of Darby Keating, carpenter, of Coomnahincha, and Norry Keating formerly Coffey, was born 09 Nov 1869 at Coomhahincha. The birth was registered by Darby Keating, father, of Coomnahincha, on 03 Dec 1869.[2]

On 01 Feb 1894 at Cahirciveen in the Registrar's District of Cahir and Union of Cahirciveen in the County of Kerry, the marriage took place of James Keating, full age, a bachelor and carpenter of Cahirciveen, son of Jeremiah Keating, carpenter, and Hanora Coffey, with Hanoria Golden, full age, a spinster and — of Connanna, daughter of Denis Golden, farmer, and Ellen Connell, witnessed by Patrick Oconnell, Mary Connell, Denis Golden, Ellen Connell.[3][4][5]

Jamies Keating appeared in the 1901 census of Ireland at House 12 in Church, Caher, Kerry, age 29, born Co Kerry, occupation carpenter, as head of family.[6]

James Keating appeared in the 1911 census of Ireland at House 7.1 in Church Street, Caher, Kerry, age 42, born Co Kerry, occupation carpenter master, as head of family. Married 17 years, having had children with still living.[7]

James Keating died 02 Jul 1936 at Caherciveen, age 66, married, occupation: boatbuilder. The death was registered by M Keating, daughter of deceased, present at death, of Caherciveen, on 28 Mar 1937.[8]

James Keating died 1935 and is commemorated at Killovarnogue Cemetery, Caherciveen,Kerry, Ireland.[9]
