Biography

Joanna Keating was born 03 Jul 1857 (based on other date information), and baptized 03 Jul 1857 in Dromod, child of James Keating and Bridget Kelly of Canneh. Sponsored by: John Sullivan, Mary Sullivan.^[1]

On 26 Feb 1876 at Spunkane in the Registrar's District of Emlah and Union of Cahirciveen in the County of Kerry, the marriage took place of Denis Sugrue, 27, a bachelor and farmer of Mingagorda, son of John Sugrue, farmer, and Julia Connor, with Joanna Keating, 22, a spinster and servant of Kinneigh, daughter of James Keating, farmer, and Bridget Kelly, witnessed by Patrick Curran, Denis Sugrue.^[2][3]

Johanna Sugrue appeared in the 1901 census of Ireland at House 2 in Emlaghlea, Emlagh, Kerry, age 55, born Co Kerry, occupation -, as wife to Denis Sugrue.^[4]
