Daughter of the late Warren F. Keating and Gertrude Tully Keating of New York, New York and Camden, Maine. Devoted wife of the late Russell M. Zahner of Richmond, Virginia; loving sister of the late Grace Keelty of Auburn, Maine; treasured mother of Judith E Rothman (The Hon. Kenneth J.) of St. Louis, Missouri and Crystal River, Florida; dear aunt, greataunt, great-great aunt, sister-inlaw, niece, cousin and compassionate friend to many. Gertrude was an accomplished ballroom dancer, classical pianist, competitive tennis partner and was terribly fond of her numerous English Cocker Spaniels and her rose gardens. She attended Marymount School of New York and was a graduate of Barnard College. Prior to moving to St. Louis in the mid-'50s, she was a graduate student at the University of Virginia. Throughout her life she spent her summers at the family compound in Maine- her favorite destination. Gertrude lived a life of dignity and reserve. She will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered for her thoughtful nature, steadfast determination and strength.
