Wiliam McGhie Keay, the son of Alexander Keay and Amy McGhie, was born on 16 Dec 1905 at Everett, Snohomish, Washington.[1]
In 1910, William Keay, 4, born Washington, was living Everett, Snohomish, Washington with his father Alexander Keay, 48yo b. Scotland, mother Amy, 43 b. Canada, and brother Norval, 12yo b. Washington. Alexander owned the house they lived in at 3201 Norton Ave. Alexander says he came to the US in 1887 and has been naturalized. He is the City Treasurer for Everett. Brother-in-law Samuel McGhie, 32 b. Canada, and sister-in-law Jennie McGhie, 25 b. Canada, are living with them.[2]
In 1920, William K. Keay, 14, was living with his mother, Amy Keay, a 53 year old widow b. Canada, in Everett. A lodger was living with them.[3]
William M. Keay married Laurell McCorkhill about 1929.[4]
In 1930, William M. Keay, 24, who working in the warehouse of a cannery, was a son-in-law living with Carl McCorkhill, a 42 year old fisherman, Carl's wife Madge, 42, and their daughter Laurel Keay, 20.[4]
A divorce was granted to Madge from husband William N. Keay in Seattle in July 1936.[5] Is this really William M. Keay?
William McGhie Keay of Everett and Chrissie Louise Olsen of Ketchikan, Alaska, were married in Seattle, King County, Washington, on 23 Nov 1939. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Honor L. Wilhelm and witnessed by Harry Walters of Seattle and Tove Jacobsen of Kent.[6]
In 1940, William N. Keay, 33 b. Washington, lived with his wife Chrissie, 23 b. Alaska, in Kent, King, Washington. He worked as a radio tech in airplanes.[7]
William M. Keay died on 9 Nov 1953 in Seattle, King, Washington. He was 46 years old, the son of Alexander Keay and Amy McGhie.[8] He was buried at the Hillcrest Burial Park, Kent, King, Washington.[9]
His obituary states that he lived in Everett until about 1941, when he moved to Kent. He worked as a radio engineer for the Boeing Airplane Company prior to World War 2, when he served as a Captain in the Army Air Corps. He was survived by his wife, a son, Gary W. and his brother Norval.[10]
William M. Keay is buried at the Hillcrest Burial Park in Kent Washington.[11]
