Obit: COLUMBIA - Memorial service for Charles Milton Keefer, Jr., 98, will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mr. Keefer, husband of the late Annie Barnes (Satterwhite, added by D. Marshall Satterwhite ) Keefer, died Sunday, October 28, 2007. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Charles Milton and Mary Alida Conover Keefer. An Army veteran of WW II, he served at Ft. Jackson in the finance department. He was a 1933 graduate of Duke University and retired from Seibels Bruce Group. Mr. Keefer attended Trenholm Road United Methodist Church and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a Grand Master at playing squash and an avid cyclist.. Surviving are son, Charles Milton Keefer, III of West Palm Beach, Fla.; daughter, Carol Keefer of College Park, Md.; and nieces, Susan Lueken, Billie Shambley, Charyl Cleaver and Karen Keefer Johnson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the USC School of Art, c/o USC Educational Foundation, 1600 Hampton St., 7th Floor, Columbia, SC 29208 or to a charity of ones choice.
