Biography

We know that Margaret C. Keeler is the mother of Martha Ellen Blythe Farris from the death certificate of Ellen's sister Lucy Adeline. The death certificate states that Margaret was born in 1824 in Tennessee. However, Margaret shows up in two census records, 1860 Roane County, TN. and in 1880 in Christian County, KY. Her son William A. Blythe who is living next door to her in 1880 was married in 1875 in neighboring Lyon County to Isabelle Ellis. Nothing more has been found to date on Margaret C. Keeler Blythe. Family lore is that Margaret was either full or part Native American.
