Emily (Keeling) Stowell was born in Stanningley, Yorkshire, England.

Emily was born in Stanningley, Yorkshire England in 1862. Her parents were David and Mary (Carter) Keeling. She had at least two younger siblings, Sarah, born about 1867, and Alfred, born about 1870.

Emily Married Robert Stowell on March 5, 1880 at Saint Peter's Church (Bradford Cathedral), Bradford, Yorkshire, England. Together, they had thirteen children, eight of which were still living in 1911. Robert died in 1934. Emily appeared in the 1939 Register as a widow residing at 61 Tong Street, Bradford. Her occupation listed as "Unpaid Domestic Duties".

Emily passed away in Bradford on March 1, 1945, She was buried at Scholemoor Cemetery and Crematorium, Bradford, Metropolitan Borough of Bradford, West Yorkshire, England. Emily was eighty two.
