From his birthplace of Old Oxford Township, John Keen moved first to Byberry and then Moreland Townships.
John Keen married Esther Foster and had at least five children by her. Of these two, John and Joseph, are known from the will of their grandfather, John Keen.
He died after falling from a horse.
