John Keen was born on 18 Oct 1851 in Ohio and grew up in Jefferson, Tipton County, Indiana. By 1880, he lived in Elsinore, Allen County, Kansas, where he ran a grocery and lived with his brother, William, and their widowed mother.[1][2][3]
John married Hanna Frances Murray on 18 Nov 1880 in Neosho County, Kansas. They had three children in Kansas before moving to Colorado in the 1890s.[4][5]
Frances Murray and John Keen had the following children:
The family lived in Pueblo in 1900, and in El Paso County in 1910. By 1920, Frances and John had relocated to Dalhart, Dallam County, Texas.[6][7][8][9]
John died in Dalhart on 28 Mar 1934; Frances died there on 12 Jan 1939. They are buried together in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart, Dallam County, Texas.[10][11][12][13]
