Biography

Born in county Down near Belfast, Ireland. He was married twice, his first wife (name unknown) by which there were two children: Jame & Samuel. His 2nd wife was Elizabeth (surname unknown) and with her he emigrated to America (prior to 1800). to this second marriage were born: John & Martha. 2nd wife, Elizabeth b.1760 d. 1838 John keenan, youngest son lived on the home farm and by his will dated 2/23/1865 he bequested his farm which he inherited from his father, to his sister, Martha Milligan during her natural life and at her death it was to go to George Rizor. It would seem that both John Keenan and his sister, Martha Milligan died in 1865 as George Rizor disposed of the farm in April 1866. Henry Keenan (I) and his wife, Elizabeth wre buried in the old graveyard at West Middleton. Henry is buried Mt Hope Church. Henry Keenan (I) subscribed to the oath of Allegiance to the United States of America in July 1808 before the court of Washington County, PA.
