Biography
Ellen (Keens) Westerby was born in Middlesex, England.
Ellen Keens was born in 1852. She was the daughter of Henry Keens and Ellen Filer. [1]
In 1871, Ellen was residing with her parents and five younger brothers in Bradford, Yorkshire. Ellen was 18-years-old and employed as a Stuff weaver. [2]
Ellen's father passed away and in 1881, she was living with her mother and four younger brothers in Buck Street, Bradford. [3]
In 1886, Ellen married Thomas Westerby. The marriage was registered Bradford, Yorkshire. [4]
In 1891, Ellen and her husband were residing in Bradford Lane, St Mary's Bradford, Yorkshire. The couple had a son, Edgar (3). [5]
Ellen was 48-years-old in 1901. Her and Thomas were still residing in Bradford. They had two sons by this time. Edgar was 13 and his younger brother, Ernest was 4. Ellen was [6]
Ellen passed away in 1937 at the age of 85. Her death was registered in Bradford, Yorkshire. [7]

Ellen's maiden surname was Keens. She married Thomas Westerby in the fourth quarter of 1886. The marriage registered in Bradford, Yorkshire. You can use the following reference if you like, but note there is a typo in the transcription as it notes Keenz.

I have also confirmed her last name at birth with her son, Ernest's birth registration, which provides mother's maiden surname. I've, taken the liberty of adding that to his profile. This reinforces that it was her maiden surname and that when she married, she had never married before.
