Although some ancestry.com trees listed her as the child of James Keech and Ann Sonners, [1][2][3][4][5][6] she is now known to be the daughter of Stewart Kees and Barshebe Taylor. She was listed as an heir in the accounting of Stewart Kees will.[7]

Phoebe passed away on 28 Oct 1886 in Niagara Falls, Niagara county, New York, according to an obituary published in the Niagara Falls Gazette:
"MRS. PLATO. Mrs, Phoeby Millard Plato died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. T. P. Mortimer, Thursday, Oct. 28, in the eighty-eighth year of her age. Mrs. Plato was one of the oldest residents of this village. Her funeral was largely attended from her late residence Sunday afternoon."
