Biography

John married Catherine Whittle on 6 October 1847 in Miller County, Missouri.^[1]

In 1850, John and Catherine were living in Miller County, Missouri. In the householder children Anderson and Elizabeth.^[2]

In 1860 John and Catherine were living in Richwoods, Miller County, Missouri. In the household our children: Anderson, Polly A, Paradine, James, Martha, and Henry. Also living with them is Susan Whittle, age 55, who is probably Catherine's mother.^[3]

John married second Susannah M Dean on 24 September 1873 in Miller County, Missouri.^[4]

In 1880 John and second wife Rachel were living in Richwoods, Miller County, Missouri. In the household were children from John's first marriage: Jonathan, Lucinda, William, and Simon Peter. And children from his second marriage: George F, Sarah J, and John M.^[5]

In 1890, John lived in Miller County, Missouri according to the United States Census of Union Veterans and Widows of the Civil War, 1890.^[6]

John died on approx. September 1, 1892. He is buried in the Rankin-Wright Cemetery.^[7]
