Biography

Parents of George Adam not known. George Adam was born 15 Mar, 1754 in Bucks County, PA as stated in his Rev. War Pension file. Early land record indicate the family was located in Rowan County, NC before 1771 and had moved to Mecklenburg County, NC before the 1790 Census. We know from the information give by his wife, Elizabeth in her request for his pension, he died 8 Jul 1844. They were living in the Salaquay area of Cass County, GA at that time. This area was later to become Gordon County and in the Fairmount area. The Kiker Cemetery is located in that area, probably where their home was located. We have no proof of George Adam and Elizabeth's burial place but it would seem they were probably the first to be buried in the Family Cemetery. There are numerous stones in the Cemetery of Rock that you can't see the engraving because they sank in the ground, with only the tops showing.

Keicher-61 and Kiker-9 appear to represent the same person because: German spelling was not retained in the US.
