"Clara Margaret Maple, 99, 2130 Harrison, Quincy, (formerly of rural Payson) died Monday, September 30, 2002 at 9:15 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born March 15, 1903 in Fall Creek Twp, Illinois, the daughter of Adam Keil and Hannah Margaret Rothgeb Keil. On February 8, 1925, she married John Maple in Bluff Hall. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1978.

She and her husband farmed in the Fall Creek Township for many years. She moved in with her son in Plainville in 1993. She was a member of Bluff Hall United Church of Christ.

Survivors include 3 sons, Marion Maple and his wife Gerri, Loveland, CO; Claude Maple and his wife Keetha, Kernville, CA; Ron Maple and his wife Juanita, Payson; a daughter-in-law, Delores Maple, Mexico, MO, 16 grandchildren; Sherry Davis and Michael Watts of Illinois, Kathy Toal of Missouri, Terry Passeral, Indiana, Randall Maple of Germany, Mark and Kirk Maple of Colorado, Douglas Maple of Pennsylvania, Bruce Maple of Texas, Julie Tremblay of California, Ronald S., Kevin and Paul Maple, Payson, Lynette Maple, Quincy, Leigh Anne Smallegan, Hudsonville, MI, and Lori Platt, Camp Point, 6 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, 2 sisters-in-law; Vera Huffman, of Oklahoma, and Lola Maple, Hannibal, MO; nieces, nephews and other relatives. She also was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Robert Maple and John Maple, Jr. and 3 brothers, John, Carl, and Bill Keil, and a granddaughter, Janet Benedict and a great grandson, Aaron Langan."
