Biography

George Keith was born in Aberdeen Scotland to Robert Keith and Isabell Jack and married Dorothy Unknown.

He and Dorothy were transported to Maryland by Captain Luke Gardner in 1670 and were in his service. At the end of the indenture, they were rewarded 50 acres of land.

He lived to be very old.

It is believed that this line begins with a George Keith (b.ca 1626)who arrived in America in 1666. He received 50 acres for the service of his wife, Dorothy(who was just then released from indenture to Luke GARDINER), and lived in St. Marry's, Calvert, and Charles Co.MD. In 1721, a Geo Keith, presumably the one under discussion, gave in deposition that he was then 96 years old. It is purported that he lived to age 111.
