Biography

Johan Jacob's was born about 1729. [1]

He married Esther Sprinkle about 1751. [1]

Jacob received a land warrant of 40 acres in Codorus Township on 31 May 1762. He was taxed in Codorus Township in 1762. On 10 Dec 1789 he received a warrant (interest beginning on 1 Nov 1769) for 40 acres in Codorus Township (adjacent to Georg Keller, Sr.). This land was surveyed as 52 acres on 1 Jun 1790 and patented to Jacob on 21 Jun 1810 (Jacob Jr). On 19 Dec 1785 he had a survey done on his father's 1754 100 acre patent in Manheim and Codorus Township, which was patented to Jacob on 10 Aug 1790. On 20 Apr 1751 Jacob received a warrant for 100 acres in North Codorus Township. This land was surveyed to him as 178 acres on 15 May 1755 and patented to Daniel Renolly on 12 Dec 1785. On 14 Jan 1767 he warranted 100 acres in Codorus Township that was surveyed as 75.4 acres called Bottomless Springs on 24 Apr 1771 and patented on 25 Mar 1791. On 31 May 1762 he warranted 40 acres in Codorus Township which was patented as Bush Hill for 109.2 acres on 13 Nov 1766 and patented on 25 Mar 1791. [1]

Jacob served during the Revolutionary War as a Private in the York County Militia in 1776, 1777, 1778, and 1780. In 1777/78 he was in Captain John Myers Company, 1st of the 5th Battalion. [1]

He was a farmer in Codorus Township with 170 acres, two horses, and four cattle in 1779; 100 acres, one horse, and four cattle in 1780; 170 acres, two horses, and four cattle in 1782; and 170 acres in 1783. In 1801 Jacob deeded his land to his son-in-law Jacob Busser in return for supporting Jacob and Esther in their old age. [1]

Jacob died in Mar 1810. [1]
