Elizabeth Keller was born July 2, 1773, in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of John Keller who immigrated from Switzerland, and Dorothea Rupp of Huntingdon County Pennsylvania, which was established on the 20th day of September 1787 from Bedford County. John Keller is honored for his military service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A064285. Applications for membership in the Society of the DAR have been made by the descendants of their son, Jacob Keller, Jr.; and of their daughters, Mary Ann Keller, who married Philip Shellenberger; Anna Catharina Keller, who married Tobias Harnish; and Elizabeth Keller, who married Jacob Shellenberger. Elizabeth (Keller) Shellenberger died February 18, 1863, at the age of 89 and is buried in the churchyard of the Keller Church, in Blair County, Pennsylvania. [2]
