Giles Kelley was born in 1770 in Brunswick, Virginia, his father, Giles, was 16 and his mother, Sarah, was 14. He married Martha Ford DeJarnette and they had 20 children together. He also had two sons with Jane Constable. He died in 1827 at the age of 57.
