Biography

Edith was born in 1890. She is the daughter of Henry Kelley and Alice Ackley. She passed away in 1975. [1]

She was married to Wellington Sawyer in about 1916, when he was 24 and she was 25. The 1930 U.S. Census recorded 38-year-old Wellington O. Sawyer and his 39-year-old wife Edith A. Sawyer in Boston, Massachusetts, with their daughter Edna L., 12, son Merrill, 10, son Sherman, 9, and Llewellyn Kelley, 24, documented as Wellington's brother-in-law. All were born in Maine (of parents who are born in Maine) except for Sherman Sawyer, who was born in Massachusetts.[2]

When Wellington Sawyer registered for the World War II draft on 29 April 1942, he gave his home address as 46 Ainsworth Street, Roslinsdale, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. He listed Mrs. Edith A. Sawyer at the same address as the "person who will always know your address." [3]

She died on 2 August 1975 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport, Maine. A single memorial stone marks the graves of Wellington O. Sawyer and his wife Edith A. Sawyer. The inscription includes the month, day, and year of their births and deaths.[4]

Kelley-2594 and Kelley-677 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates, places and spouse.

When merging, please select the middle initial and place names from profile Kelley-2594 so things like upper-case letters don't have to be corrected again post-merge. (I can't edit Kelley-677, or I'd do that myself right now.)
