Obituary: Crushed To Death Under Own Wagon. Preston Republican. Terra Alta, WV. Thur., May 8, 1924. Excerpt - A sad accident occurred near Oakland last Wednesday, April 30, when William Kelly, aged 62 years, fell from his wagon, which was loaded with two tons of fertilizer, and was crushed beneath one of the rear wheels. He was immediately taken by a passing motorist to the office of Dr. John Darby, where he died about 4 1/2 hours later. Mr. Kelly was well know here, having lived in this section a number of years and was a brother of Jerome Kelly of Cranesville and S. M. Kelly of Terra Alta. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at the Red House Church. Interment was at Red House. Record added: Mar 10, 2009. CLD
