Julius Spencer Kellogg, born probably 2 Aug 1829 @ Adams, New York, was the second child of Louisa (Breed) Kellogg (1805-1892) & Lewis Kellogg (1798-1880). His birth date is presented as 24 Jan 1829 in the Breed genealogy [1], which probably is inaccurate in view of the apparently hand-written family birth record which is evident in his online memorial site, stating "August 2.1829 Julius Spencer".
He may have preferred to reverse his given names, as was commonly done in the 1800s, thus he was known as Spencer Julius Kellogg.
He married first, 02 Apr 1854, @ Aurelius, Michigan, Hannah Lamb Freeman [2] (1833 - 1873). Two children are evident from this union, however there may have been others:
This family was counted in census records of Oshkosh, Wisconsin [5],[6].
Spencer married second, 22 Jul 1875, @ Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Mary Cornell [1843 - 1935; daughter of Rhobah (Potter) and Abel Cornell, of Colesville, Broome County, New York] [7]. They were censused in Wrightstown, thereafter in Omro, Wisconsin [8],[9],[10],[11]. From these records it is evident that Spencer's daughter Hattie continued to reside with them.
Spencer Julius Kellogg died in February 1911 at Omro, Wisconsin. His grave is represented to be in Omro Junction and Union Cemetery, Omro, Winnebago County, Wisconsin, USA [12]. No grave marker is depicted.
