OBITUARY MR. DENIS KELLY. News has come to hand of the sudden death at St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, of Mr. Denis Kelly, (better known here as 'Dinny' Kelly), which took place last Wednesday at midnight. The late Mr. Kelly, was well-known in Wellington and district, and for a number of years was an active man on the land. After leaving agriculture, he was connected with the Wellington Brewery, but afterwards went to Sydney, and later was a messenger in a Government department at Canberra, prior to his death, the news of which will come as a great shock to his numerous friends, for he was only ill a very short while. While in Wellington, Mr. Kelly took an active part in the welfare of the town, and for a period was secretary of the now defunct Wellington Jockey Club, while he was always an active worker in political circles for the Labor movement. He is survived by a widow and a family of sons and daughters, the youngest of whom is about 9 years of age. His sister-in-law (Mrs. A. Kelly), brother Michael, and Mr. P. B. Colreavy left Wellington on Thursday to be present at the funeral. Messrs T. J. and Leo. Kelly are also brothers. The sisters are Mrs. D. Lynch (Wellington), Mrs. Welsh and Mrs. Skelly (both of Enmore), and Mrs. Taylor (Newtown).
Death of Spouse: 19 Aug 1947, St. George Hospital, Kogarah, New South Wales, Australia
