Catherine was born in 1800 in Campbeltown, Scotland. She was the daughter of John Kelly and Katharine Stewart. [1]
She married Alexander Stewart in Glasgow in 1827. [2]
They lived in Lanarkshire, where Alex was a blacksmith. [3]
