Biography

Robert was born in 1816 in Tuam, Co.Galway, Ireland, son of John Kelly and Mary Kelly.^[1]

Note : His death record in Versailles, France, spells his birth place as "Juam", but it was written by a french civil officer who certainly did not double check the place name. No place named "Juam" exist in Ireland, so this is almost certainly a mispelling for "Tuam".
