Biography

MR. MARTIN PATRICK KELLY. An old pioneer of the Nullawil district in the person of Mr. Martin Patrick Kelly died at his residence on October 29th. at the age of 76 years. Mr. Kelly had resided in Nullawil for the past 33 years, and was well known and highly respected. Born in County Clare, he migrated to Australia when a young man, and was engaged in mining at Clunes, Maryborough and Bendigo for some years. From Clunes he settled at Wooroonooke for five years, thence going to Nullawil, where he followed farming pursuits. Deceased leaves a widow, six sons - John Joseph, Martin Patrick, Andrew Francis, William John, Michael James, James Timothy - and five daughters: Mrs. James White (Nullawil), Mrs. F. Orr (Melbourne), Mrs. T. Kildery (Kerang), Mrs. J. Hogan (Nullawil), and Miss Gertrude Kelly (Nullawil). The funeral took place at Wycheproof, the Rev. L, Conway, of Quambatook, officiating at the graveside. R.I.P.^[1]
