Biography

Ireland Native
Mary (Kelly) Hall was born in Ireland.

Mary was born about 1843. [1] She was the daughter of John Kelly, merchant, and Eliza Kelly. [2] Her residence was given as "Omagh" as of 1869 although perhaps it was Curraghamulkin.

On 25 November 1869 at St. Catherine's, Dublin, she married Patrick Blaney Hall, widower. Witnessed by C. Hall and (illegible). Patrick's address was Printing House Square, London. [3] [2]

They were in Guernsey (Channel Islands) as of 1881; daughter Edith had been born there 3 years earlier.

As of 1901 Mary was the proprietor of a house in Mount Street Lower, Dublin. Daughter Edith was with her, whilst Patrick was living at Curraghamulkin, near Drumquin, County Tyrone.

It is not clear why they were at different places at that time; although the couple and daughter were together again as of 1905 when Patrick passed away at Curraghamulkin. Mary testified at the inquest. [4]

Mary passed away 19 July 1911 age 68 at Jervis Street Hospital Dublin. She lived at 50 Brighton Gardens, Brighton Rd. [5] She is buried with Patrick at St. Patrick's churchyard, Drumquin. [6]

Research Notes

In 1901 Ireland census. In the latter, Patrick had a nephew James McCanny(14) . (not clear on which side that nephew would be related)

In the 1905 inquest article, Mary says that they have a daughter in attendance. There were no more children born at London to this couple in GRO and none in Ireland (before 1881) ; although possibly some of the HALL/KELLY births in GRO outside London might be this couple who moved.
