New Zealand Times, 21 November 1901, Page 5[4] The marriage of Mr Harry Harrison, of the literary staff of the "New Zealand Times,” and Miss Amy Jane Kelly, oldest daughter of Mr J. L. Kelly, editor of this newspaper, was solemnised at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral yesterday afternoon. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Guy H. Scholefield and Mr J. S. Kelly, the bride being given away by her father. The bridesmaids were the Misses Nellie Kelly and Alice Harrison, sisters of the contracting parties. The marriage service was conducted by the Rev T. H. Sprott, in the presence of a large gathering of friends. After the ceremony the guests assembled at the residence of the bride’s parents, where a welcome was extended to the newly married couple, followed by the time honoured salutations when the bride and bridegroom later on drove off on their honeymoon trip. The bride on going away wore a navy costume coat and skirt, trimmed with glace silk, sot off by a point lace collar, and pale blue hat. At the altar the bride’s costume was of white silk, trimmed with lace and insertion - plus orange blossoms and wreath to match, and a shower bouquet. She also wore a gold chain and pendant, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids wore dresses of white silk, and hats to match; also gold brooches, which were the bridegroom’s tokens. During the afternoon telegrams and letters of congratulation were received from friends residing in distant parts of the colony, and the many wedding gifts were exceedingly handsome.
