John Averett Alexander Kelsey was born on 2 August 1838 in Caldwell County, Missouri, United States to Samuel Alexander Pagan Kelsey (1805-1894) and Jennet Averett (1809-1887). He traveled to Utah with his parents and sister Matilda.
Marriage
He married Emma Woodcock (1839-1913) on 23 February 1865 in Smithfield, Cache, Utah. Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints record gives full name, parents, name of spouse, birth date and place, baptism date, death date, endowment date of 24 November 1862 and Sealed to Spouse date of 20 December 1869. Death and Burial
John died on 6 September 1909 in Smithfield, Cache, Utah, United States at the age of 71. Death certificate states cause of death was heart failure. He was buried in the Smithfield City Cemetery, Smithfield, Cache, Utah. A headstone photo is available. Find A Grave: Memorial #178490
