Reginald "Ray" was born in about 1892. [1] He was the son of Denham Kelsey and Mollie Harris. His father was in the Royal Navy.
In the 1901 Census, he was residing in Clarinda Park West (Kingstown, Dublin), Ireland with his mother and his brother, Cecil. He was 9 years of age and a scholar. Also in the household were two servants.
He was in the Honorable Artillery Company (service number 1959)[2] in 1914 and was in France in 1915 as a Private. He was also in the Royal Navy Reserve as a Sub-Lieutenant (1914). These are side by side in the Forces War Records for the same person with the same service number.
He was a Temporary Assistant Paymaster in 1915 at Kempenfelt (and was again Temporary Paymaster Lieutenant in 1941).
His father died in 1925.
In 1928 he travelled to Penang in Malaysia, on the ship Lalandia. His occupation was recorded as a Planter. He was aged 36.
He married Dorothy Cronshaw at Wallingford, Berkshire in 1932.[3]
In 1939 Ray travelled to Canada, on the ship Empress Of Australia. His brother Cecil had married and settled in Canada. Ray was now 48 years of age, no occupation, address "Red House", Warborough, Oxon. His wife Dorothy was travelling with him.
Both his wife and his mother died in 1955.
He married, secondly, Sheila Margaret Michaelson-Yeates in Barnstaple, Devon in 1956.[4]
Ray died in 1963 at the age of 71.[5]
His Will was probated on 3 July 1963 to Sheila Margaret Kelsey (his widow) and Philip Sugden Porter (Solicitor). Effects 81,295 Pounds.

KELSEY. -- On May 12, peacefully at St Michael's Hospital, Hayle, REGINALD HAROLD (Ray), aged 71, of Tressider, Mullion, beloved husband of Sheila. Cremation private. Memorial service at Mullion Parish Church to-morrow (Wednesday, May 15 at 3 p.m. No flowers or letters please.
