William's first marriage was to Hannah Read on 18 April 1759 by licence. It was the first marriage for both parties who were resident in the parish and able to sign their names. The witnesses were John Read and Richard Harvoe (Richard is a witness for most of the marriages). [2] There were three children from the marriage
Mary was buried at Farmborough on 25 July 1781. [1]
On 23 February 1785 William married Mary Read, a widow, at Farmborough by licence. Both parties could sign the register. The witnesses were John Boulter and another person named Boulter. [2]
Land tax records for 1798 show tax of £4 0s 8d being assessed on land owned by William and occupied by himself and his sons. [4]
William was buried at Farmborough on 8 October 1818. [5]
