Richard Kemp and Susannah Piggott were married 29 January 1746 at Fairfax, VA Monthly Meeting and moved to Cane Creek, Orange, North Carolina. They had the following known children:
Joseph Kemp was born 1750 in North Carolina. He married Wilmet Haworth on 18 Apr 1771. They had 6 children.
•Benjamin Kemp, named in will and was an adult. He got a certificate to Center MM 3rd month 16th day 1783
•Margery Kemp was born 31 October 1759 in North Carolina and was married Joseph Hinshaw (17552-1822), son of Jesse Hinshaw and Abigail Marshall on 18 Aug 1877 at Cane Creek. She died 21 March 1798 at Cane Creek.
•Susanna Kemp was born in 1761 in Chatham County, North Carolina. She married Daniel Williams, probably the son of William Williams and Margaret Evans, on 12 Jul 1781 at Cane Creek, Chatham, North Carolina and had a least one son.
•Richard Kemp married Mary Horn 19 December 1782.
•Rachel Kemp was born in 1764 and married the famous Quaker minister, William Williams on 16
March 1786 at Cane Creek. They had 13 children. She died 18 August 1851, outliving her
husband by many years.
•Prudence Kemp was born in 1767 in Chatham County and died 4/7/1787 or 5/22/1787depending on the source.
Indenture made 15 January 1765 between Henry Kemp and Dinah, his wife, and William Brewer for the sale of 100 acres of Henry and Dinah's land located on Richland Creek (a tributary on the North side of the Neuse River), "...along Richard Kemp's former old line, to a Hickory on Manuals branch, thence along or near the branch Richard Kemps line to Richland Creek..." confirming Henry's property adjoined that of Richard Kemp. This record is also significant because it provides the given name of Henry's wife as Dinah. [1]
