Andrew has passionately been undertaking genealogy over the past 15 years. After many years of trying to break down his Kemp brick wall and through making many Kemp connections worldwide, Andrew decided to expand his research.

The United Kingdom Project has not been active since 2018 and we are now completely closing it down. We are removing all UK project badges. If you still have an interest in the UK and have not already joined another project, then you will need to join the England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales Project by answering one or more of their G2G posts. If your interest is in the British Isles and British Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories, then please contact me directly.
We've not yet received a reply from you regarding the message we recently sent about the England Project. We hope you're okay! We realise that your interests may have moved on, however, and so of we don't hear from you by the end of December we'll presume that you wish to be removed from the Project. Of course, you'll be welcome to rejoin us at a later time if you wish :)
Due to life, I have struggled in 2020 to make any progress in my own genealogy, my One-Name Study or to participate in the England project on WikiTree. I am hoping things may get better in 2021, however at present I can not see that.
I will ask you to remove me from the England project and if things change in the future, I will re-apply.
It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around.
First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?
Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?
The Australia Project leadership team are carrying out a check-in to see how you are going in the project and especially to thank you for all your work on Australian profiles on WikiTree. We really value your participation.
We currently don't seem to have you down for any particular team. Please could you get back to me by private message to let me know where you would like to participate. You can check on the Australia Project page to see what options there are. The Profile Improvers team might suit you, or one of the Colony/State teams.
It would also be great to hear any feedback and any suggestions that you have to improve the project. On a practical note, if you are a member of the google group, are you receiving messages ok?
I left a message for you about a week ago to let you know about the restructuring of the Wales Project into new teams and to ask for your team(s) selection and e-mail address so I can add you to the project’s Google group. I’ve not yet heard back from you, so hope you are well, and that everything is ok in your part of the world.
Understanding that we are living in unusual times, I will hang on for another week to make sure that you do indeed want to stay in the project, after which, if I don’t hear from you, I’ll go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to rejoin at any time.
Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. Thank you for all your work on English Profiles and in particular your work in Norfolk Team.
These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice, or if you wish to do something additional or different. Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do.
As you will have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the Wales Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know which team(s) you would like to be in.
Please can you also send me your e-mail address? I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders, are in the Google Group, and receive an invitation to join our Discord server.
Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the Wales Project that you respond to these check-ins.
Hi Andrew! I was working on reviewing a Magna Carta trail (from Filmer to Huntingfield) that took me to the profile for Emeline Kemp's husband, Reginald Scott (which is why all of a sudden I was posting about Kempes - Traci, another project member, is re-reviewing the Kempe trail, so you might be hearing more from the project).
Anyway, I wanted to ask you if you wanted to join the project's Google Group, which is open to badged and affiliate members. Badged members have participation requirements to meet but affiliate members don't (see more at our "join post" - https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/943331/ ). You seem to be really busy with other projects... if you wanted to join as an Affiliate, just copy/paste the following to your profile:

On behalf of the England Leaders, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all your contributions towards the project in the past six months as a Team Member for Norfolk. We've achieved a great deal during this time and we couldn't have done it without you.
Are you happy to stay in your current team and the project as a whole? Are there any other teams you'd like to join? What are we doing well, and what would you like to see us doing differently moving forwards?
Please respond to this message via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.
On behalf of the Australia Project leadership team, we're carrying out a Project Members Check-in to see if you are still interested in being involved as an active member of the project. In particular, we are ready to launch our new teams for the project. Please could you let me know what team/s you would like to contribute to. A list of teams is on the Australia Project page. Please respond by private message.
We really appreciate your enthusiasm in working on Australian profiles on WikiTree, and thank you for all the work you have been doing. We look forward to hearing back from you and that you will decide to be part of the project as we move forward with the new teams for the project. Regards, Gillian
Hi Andrew and thanks for your interest in the Ireland Project.
The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group.
See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details.
The Teams are :-
1. Categories Team
2. Counties Team
3. Managed Profiles Team
4. Membership Team
5. Profile Improvement Team
6. Topics Team
7. Diaspora
?
Can you let me know which team(s) youd like to join.
We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.
Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please dont assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.
Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.
Hi Andrew, thanks for the invitation to your one name study. I do not know a great deal about the Kemps as the latest in our family with the name would be my 2nd g-gmother Elizabeth Kemp Compton b. 1854 (middle name only), her mother Jane Kemp (last as a surname) b 1827, and grandfather William (my 4th G-grandfather) who had a business in mid-1800s Cork as a chandler outfitting ships. There is quite a seafaring/naval/military theme in this part of my family (surnames Kemp, Compton, Hunt, Love), and many family members travelled back and forth many times to America, so tracking has been a bit of a challenge. Some ended up in the US, some in Canada, some stayed in Ireland, some unknown. I am sorry I have not had time to put everything together yet, but let me know how I can help.
Are you still interested in being part of the Australia project? If so, please add a tag of 'Australia' so you can keep up to date with G2G communications from the project.
I have just spent the afternoon thoroughly enjoying perusing your wonderful KEMP one-name study (ONS). I have found my connection and I am delighted. If I could be of any assistance with providing additional information with regards to the children of Elenor Rebecca Kemp and Simon Peter Potter I would be very happy to if welcomed. Thank you again for this wonderful link!
