Biography

Julia was born in 1857. Julia Kemp ... She passed away in 1927. [1]

For a rendering of the story behind Andrew Jackson Kemp having two wives, visit his page in this wikitree.]

Note by Kelly Sinclair: From multiple 20th century members of the family, the story is that, in addition to his two wives, Kemp also had a liaison with a Seminole woman who supposedly gave up her daughter, Julia Ann Kemp,to be raised by Arrina Edwards. It is the opinion of this writer (K.S.) that Arrina Edwards, the common-law wife of Andrew Jackson Kemp, is the likely biological mother of Julia Kemp Smith. Reason being, that my DNA testing revealed very little Native American ancestry. Therefore, I lean strongly in favor of the Arrina Edwards bloodline.
