Hello, My name is Sally Stovall, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
Check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.
Helpful guide here: Bartlettand here. We also have a Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
Shawn, you are now a member of WikiTree! Please help us build one Collaborative Global Family Tree, which means only one profile per person. It's important that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced. If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
To help you get started, view this introductory WikiTree video.
We also have Mentors who will be glad to answer questions.
I have been working on trying to verify and update our Family Tree over the past couple of years. My primary surname foci have been Weeks, Herndon, Kendall and Brewer. My paternal grandparents & aunt put together a family tree book (original 1970) consisting of my paternal grandmother's parents, siblings and their descendants. It was updated and reprinted in 1990 and then was updated roughly every 5 years (reunions) until 2005, after which my paternal grandmother passed away. In her memory, I have been trying to contact as many of the family and make as many updates as I can, in order to publish a freshly updated tree hopefully later this year.
I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. We have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening. If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
