Nicholas, son of Reverend Nicholas Kendall and Susan Goodwin, was baptised at Lanlivery, Cornwall on 14 January 1810. He was educated at Exeter College, Oxford, graduating BA in 1833. At the 1841 census he was back with his parents in Lanlivery then a clergyman like his father. He married Sophia Ann Colenso at Bodmin in January 1845. At the 1851 Census he was living in Bodmin with his wife and daughter. He was chaplain to Bodmin Gaol. He died at Bodmin on 15 February 1858, his estate worth less than £1000 was probated to his executor, William Pearce, on 1 April.
