Biography

Mary Kendall was born March 16, 1721 in Lancaster, Worcester Co, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of John Kendall and Mary Unknown. [1]

Mary Kendall of Lancaster entered her intention of marriage with Philip Goss IV of Brookfield on June 7, 1744. [2] [3]

The family lived at Brookfield, Worcester County; Granville, Hampden County and Becket, Berkshire County, Massachusetts, also at Simsbury (now Granby), Hartford County, Connecticut; later removed to Plymouth and Huntington Townships, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. [4]

Mary passed away on April 18, 1821 at the home of her grandson, Nathaniel Goss, Jr. in Huntington Township, Luzerne, Pennsylvania at age 100. She was buried in Scott Cemetery below Huntington Mills on the Waterton Road, Luzerne, Pennsylvania. She shares a headstone with her son Nathaniel and daughter-in-law Hannah. Through several years I have gathered these facts and fancies from reading tombstones, family Bibles, through old friends of the family, from old records at Taunton. Mass. and by asking many, many questions. I also owe a debt of gratitude to Paul Goss, who, in his research for the Goss history kept running across the Seward line and jotted down notes and sent them to me." Emily Seward Kingsley, June, 1953

These are a few.of the documents I've posted regarding this Mary Kendall Wright. She is not who married Goss but Mary was a VERY popular name in this family so she's probably connected to another line. Thank you
