Would you please give your approval for the recent merge proposals I have sent to you for:

Mast-273, and 542

I am helping some friends who are researching the Mast immigrants of 1737 and 1750. There is much confusion and duplication among these 2 surnames and some others in the Amish Mennonite community in northern Berks County, and I'm trying to get them straight.

Hi Linda,

Do I have it right that you are distantly related to Farley Mowat? My step kids grandfather Warren Mowat Reid used to play with Farley as a kid and the family claims his as a cousin. Since he has been one of my favorite nature writers, I would love to find the connection. Have you put together a tree that let you know your relationship with him? Maybe it will help me solve this mystery. I have much of Farley's family on my Ancestry tree and had their great grandmother Laura Augusta Mowat as his sister until I read his book Born Naked to find he had no siblings (well I think his parent did adopt a first nations girl and a boy. ) So far I have not found a connection. What do you think?

Hi Linda,

Thank you for your message telling me what team(s) you’d like to be on with Canada. I’ve made a note of them. Please can you send me your e-mail address by return so that I can get you added to the Google Group?

Many thanks,

Hi Linda,

I haven’t yet heard back from you to say whether or not you’d like to continue in the Canada Project. Please can you let me know if you’d like to stay, what team(s) you’d like to be in, and let me know your e-mail address so I can add you to the project Google Group? If I haven’t heard back from you by this time next week I’ll assume you no longer want to be in the project and go ahead and remove you. You would, of course, be most welcome to re-join at any time.

Many thanks,

Hi Linda,

Greg Lavoie, Dave Rutherford and I have put a lot of work into restructuring the Canada Project. Have a look at the new project page.

You'll see that we've changed the project name to the Canada Project and the badge will be changed shortly. We've done this in order to provide lots of ways for people to contribute to Canadian Profiles. We've also moved towards a team approach with top level teams being lead by Project Coordinators and sub-teams being lead by Team Leaders.

Would you like to continue in the Canada Project, and if so, which team(s) would you like to be on?

Let me know if you have any questions. Once I hear back from you I'll add you to the Google group and get you set up in your team(s).

Troyer-104 and Troyer-370 do not represent the same person because: is my 7th gr grand Uncle and is my 7th Great Grandfather.

There are differences in dates of birth. They often named their children after their siblings causing much confusion at times when the dates of birth or death are missing. I see why you have assumed they are duplicates but more people than I have tried to sort out their correct biographies.

I have based my findings on my own DNA matches with them, as well as searching many family documents. Thank you for your interest.

Hey Linda. I saw you rejected most of the matches of the descendants of Abraham Troyer (*1659). Could you further explain why they shouldn't match? Or merge them? Both sons David were born 1707, had the same wife Veronica. Both have a son Michael David, married to Magdalena Mast. And their children also match: The children added to Troyer-5 are also listed in the biography section of Troyer-61.

HI cousin! I see Thomas Wheeler is firmly in the PGM realm -- one of the ancestral areas I hope to explore more fully.

Hi, Linda,

Thanks for suggesting a possible match of Hutchinson-4505 and Hutchinson-2765. It seems unlikely to me. Have you any evidence that 2765 travelled across the Atlantic twice? Perhaps to get married? My source gave no hint of a middle name either. Chris
