Biography

Robert Kennedy was born on 14 December 1879[1] or 3 December 1878,[2] in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to John Kennedy and Margaret Wood. [1] [3]

In 1880, he was living with his family at 2813 D Street, Philadelphia. [3]

He and his sister Jennie were baptised on 21 April 1884, in Fifth Reformed Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia. [1]

In 1900, he was living with his family at 346 Mayfield, Philadelphia. He was a janitor, and had been unemployed for zero months. [4]

He was married to Anna M Cairns on 23 May 1904, by James N Knipe. (Knipe, who was minister of the Fairhill United Presbyterian Church, at the corner of Front and Tioga), also married Robert's sister Clara.) He was living at 443 E Cambria Street, Philadelphia, and was a marine fireman. He was presumably living with his siblings, since his sister Edna was living at 443 E Cambria when she died in 1905. [5] She was living at 2804 Jasper Street, Philadelphia, and was a mill hand. [6] They had three known children: [7]

Robert Kennedy (1906-1908)
Victor Kennedy (1907-1939)
Lester Kennedy (1909-1939)

In 1910, they were living at 2955 Rutledge Street (just up the street from his sister Laura, who was living at 2941 Rutledge). He was a factory foreman, and hadn't been unemployed in 1909. [7]

When he died, he was a stationary fireman, and they were living at 2734 North Hope Street, Philadelphia. He apparently worked for Schaum & Uhlinger, since its employees were invited to the services. [8] [2]

He died on 18 April 1912, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of pulmonary tuberculosis (or consumption) (duration 3-1/2 months). He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, on 22 April 1912; he is the only person buried in the lot. [2] [8] [9]
